Police Strengthens Security for Collation of Four Outstanding Constituencies in Eastern Region

  Story by Abena Sarpongmaah  The Ghana Police Service has stepped up security measures for the collation of election results in four outstanding constituencies in the Eastern Region. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Richmond Mensah announced that the collation process for these constituencies has been relocated to the National Police Training School (NPTS) in Tesano, Accra. This move is aimed at ensuring a secure environment, with enhanced security provided by both police and military personnel. So far, the collation for one of the constituencies has been successfully completed, leaving three constituencies pending. Similar arrangements have been made in the Ashanti and Bono East Regions for their outstanding collation processes. The Ghana Police Service is awaiting confirmation of specific dates from the Electoral Commission to implement the security measures in these regions. KOICA SUPPORTS ECE EDUCATION IN NORTH EAST REGION

  Story by Abena Sarpongmaah  Early Childhood Education in the North East Region has seen massive improvement through the Quality and Inclusive Early Childhood Education Service for All Children (QAIECE) project funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)  Key project achievements includes; 9 fully furnished KG and WASH facilities, 3,865 set of school supplies, 2 boreholes, training of 54 teachers in the new KG curriculum and Learning Through Play (LTP), provision of 77 LTP manuals, 3,872 calendars and 77 KG curriculum.   120 community facilitators were also trained in the LTP methodology, VSLA groups sensitized on the importance of ECD, 25 health workers trained on LTP and extended same to parents during ante/post-natal sessions, 52 radio discussions and airing on ECE, 26 SISOs trained on effective supervision, 20 SISOs supported to effectively monitor schools and 1 regional and 1 national ECE forums organized to highlight the need for support to E...
