MLNR Engages Stakeholders on Wildlife Act Regulations Story by: Mary Bempah February 17, 2026 The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Yusif Sulemana, has called on stakeholders to actively participate in the formulation of regulations to operationalise the Wildlife Resources Management Act, 2023. He said the draft Legislative Instrument (L.I.), currently under development, was intended to strengthen wildlife governance, enhance enforcement mechanisms and promote community participation in the management of the country’s wildlife resources. Speaking at a stakeholder engagement, Mr Sulemana underscored the need for an inclusive approach to policy formulation, stressing that effective wildlife management required the input of local communities, traditional authorities, civil society organisations and private sector actors.
