 HELPING THE POOR AND NEEDY IS MY GREATEST CONCERN - KELL KWAME SAKA. A young Philanthropist Kell Kwame Saka is a V.I.P bus conductor at circle has cooked for over 800 people. According to him, he grew up in the Zongo community so he knows how hard life is when you have no support from anyone, every twice in a year he cook and donate to the less privileged on the streets of Accra. He said that, he organises food and other items which he shares to the needy especially those sleeping on the streets. His comments accusing the station of mischief and misinformation reflect an alarming trend of growing arrogance and intolerance toward the media by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).  This attack, provoked by Joy FM's factual reporting on the Speaker of Parliament’s declaration of four vacant seats, is an unacceptable attempt to intimidate and silence independent journalism.  Press Release  *UPDN CONDEMNS ATTACK ON EIB NETWORK JOURNALIST AND CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION*   *[Accra - Ghana, 17/10/24]* – The United Press for Development Network (UPDN) unequivocally condemns the violent attack on Mr. Murtala Inusah, Legal Affairs Correspondent for the EIB Network, by supporters of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako at the High Court in Accra.  This brazen assault on a journalist within a court’s premises is not only a direct attack on press freedom but also raises grave concerns about the state of security in our judicial institutions.   We express our deepest solidarity with Mr. Inusah, who sustained injuries, including multiple cuts on his wrist, and also lost his personal belongings while lawfully performing his duties as a journalist.   GAYO and KoKMA Join Forces for a Zero Waste Future in Accra In a significant step towards scaling up the Zero Waste Cities program, the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) and the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly (KoKMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the Zero Waste for Sustainable Cityscape project in Accra. This collaborative initiative aims to transform waste management practices within the municipality and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. GAYO is a youth-led advocacy group that focuses on environmental sustainability and community development by empowering youth and local communities to address pressing environmental issues.
