 Tech-Powered Change: Social Entrepreneurs Lead the Charge at GSEF 2025

The 6th Ghana Social Enterprise Forum (GSEF) was opened in Accra with a strong call for the adoption of technology to accelerate social innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.


This year’s forum, held on the theme “Smart Impact: Leveraging Technology to Accelerate Social Innovation,” brought together social entrepreneurs, innovators, policymakers, academics and development partners to deliberate on technology-driven solutions for inclusive growth. 

In an interview with the press  Ms Amma Lartey who is a Board Chair and also the CEO of Impact Investing Ghana (IIGh) underscored the critical role of social enterprises in addressing national development gaps such as poverty, inequality and unemployment.

 “We are here today to celebrate the work and impact of social entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs with disabilities, and young entrepreneurs across the country,” she said.

“We acknowledge government’s efforts in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, and we encourage the development of more inclusive policies that support persons with disabilities, women, the youth and displaced groups.”


The forum featured keynote presentations, panel discussions and exhibitions highlighting innovative products and solutions developed by social enterprises and startups. Topics explored included transformational technologies, artificial intelligence for social good, and ways to make emerging technologies more attractive in entrepreneurship. 


Dr. Prince Kofi Klujeson,  in his remarks, stressed the importance of technology in shaping the future of social entrepreneurship.

 “The world is moving at a rapid pace, and technology is at the forefront of this change,” he noted. “As social entrepreneurs, we must leverage technology to accelerate social innovation and promote inclusive growth.”

This year’s event was supported by the Star Ghana Foundation and other partners like WUSC, The European Union Delegation in Ghana, Skills Initiative For Africa (SIFA), 2Scale, GIZ

The forum provided a platform for networking, learning and showcasing groundbreaking solutions designed to tackle Ghana’s development challenges. It also reaffirmed the growing momentum of social innovation in the country and its potential to drive inclusive and sustainable development.

The Ghana Social Enterprise Forum continues to serve as a major catalyst for strengthening the ecosystem of social entrepreneurship and innovation nationwide.
