GHANA SOCIAL ENTERPRISE FORUM 2024: PROMOTING ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN GHANA

The Social Enterprise Ghana organised a forum dubbed GHANA SOCIAL ENTERPRISE FORUM 2024 with the theme "DEVELOPING SKILLS FOR IMPACT: TRAINING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHANGE - MAKERS IN GHANA".

In an interview with Mr. Edwin Zu-Cudjoe, Executive Director for Social Enterprise Ghana said that, the forum was organised to bring along all diverse people and it's members on board.

He said that, this year's forum is looking at how to develop young people for vocational skills and to equip them with entrepreneurship skills that are relevant in today's current dispensation which is not only for employment but entrepreneurship and job creation.

Mr. Zu-Cudjoe added that, they have received funding from MasterCard foundation to train about 80,000 young people across Ghana with vocational skills.

He added that, when you talk about vocational skills, a lot of young people think it's for people who have not completed school, they're dirty so it's quite difficult for the young ones to learn plumbing, electricals, fashion designing and amongst others but increasingly are the opportunity that they are seeing in those areas where the young people who are in those areas are generating a lot of income and revenue in all these areas so he doesn't see these areas as dirty jobs but rather creates opportunities for them.
