HARNESSING AND HONOURING THE WORK OF AFRICAN CONTENT ONLINE

The Open Foundation West Africa is a Ghanaian organization dedicated to promoting African culture and developing digital skills through open-centered approaches. With a network of communities, OFWA is committed to digitally representing and preserving Africa's rich heritage.

As a way of honouring and appreciating the work of African content online, the Open Foundation West Africa (OFWA) is set to launch the fifth edition of its annual Africa Wiki Challenge (AWC). This exciting project aims to leverage the power of Wikipedia and its sister projects to amplify African voices and stories.

A Theme of Great Significance

This year's challenge theme, "Reclaiming Our Narrative: Justice for Africans and the Diaspora through Reparations," aligns perfectly with the African Union's theme for the year. It's a call to action for Africans and people of African descent to take ownership of their narratives and contribute to the global conversation on justice, reparations, and historical redress.
